Preston Bus teams up with Rise Digital Media to launch new website and app for passengers

Thursday 17 March 2022

Preston Bus has today (17 March) launched a brand-new website - https://www.prestonbus.co.uk – which makes the planning and taking of bus trips in and around Preston easier than ever before for passengers.

Built and developed with industry tech firm Rise Digital Media, the website – also available in a mobile-friendly version on handsets and tablets - provides users with simple and instant access to the very latest service updates, timetable and route information, live bus tracking (arrival and departure times), journey planning tools, news and more. The website also offers a simple ‘tickets and fares’ page where customers can view and purchase m-tickets which can be instantly downloaded to a compatible mobile device for immediate use.  The full range of available onboard daily, weekly and area tickets can also be found here.

Speaking about the new and improved website, David Clayton, Marketing Manager for Preston Bus said:

"We are pleased to announce this new website and are delighted to have worked with Rise Digital Media in achieving this goal. We hope this website will have a large and positive impact for the commuters and customers of Preston Bus, the Live Tracking, Service Updates and the Journey Planning Tool now puts them in full control.

“We are pleased and proud to be able to bring this development to the people of Preston especially this year, with it being our Centenary Year it seems to be a little more in keeping with the world of technology at present."

Later this month Preston Bus will be launching a dedicated customer App to complement the new website.  Further details to follow in due course.

Chris Nice, Operations Director at Rise Digital Media added:

“We are delighted to have worked with the team at Preston Bus during the production and launch of their new website which includes live vehicle tracking and mobile ticketing features. The addition of Preston Bus to our portfolio of clients means that we now support the full Rotala operation via our BusHub mobility platform, and hundreds of thousands of bus passengers across the west midlands, north west and south east of the country now have full and easy access to the very latest bus service information in their areas.

“Our suite of bespoke products and services to the bus and coach industry have been designed to make bus travel the simple and easy choice for passengers and to provide operators with a better understanding of daily operations and reporting on services.

“We look forward to working closely with the team and Preston and Rotala as they look to build on their digital offerings to passengers.”
